"This pendant represents my pride in sharing my title of a military widow with some of the most inspiring and empowering women in the world. And most importantly, this pendant represents the light that is still within each of us...a light that is unfaltering and always will guide us through the darkest of hours. This pendant sums up all that it is to be a proud military widow of a United States Service member. I wear it when I need to be reminded of my own strength. I wear it on special holidays as my way of showing my patriotism. I wear it when I need to know other women out there on the same path are wearing one too."

Sometimes, they need more than a hint....

I'll never forget the Christmas of "The necklace." My husband was deployed, and he was constantly bugging me to tell him what I wanted for Christmas. I couldn't think of a thing, other than a trip to Sephora or some winter boots. Romantic, I know. One night, I was hanging out with a group of military wives, and one of the ladies was wearing a pretty necklace. I asked her where she got it, and she told me her husband sent it to her for her birthday. Soooo, I shared the link with my husband, and he sent the necklace to me!  It was supposed to be for Christmas, but he was so excited to give it to me, he told me to open it when it arrived. We're not big on surprises; we went to an independent ultrasound business to find out the sex of our baby...four days before our hospital appointment to find out the sex of our baby. Impatient, much?
After wearing the necklace to a few coffee's and random get-togethers, I had at least five wives asking me to send the link to their husbands. And, after learning that the ladies had done this, and I had helped with the Christmas necklaces, other wives were mad at me for not mentioning the necklace idea to their spouse. So, my point is, if you need me to send the link to your spouse, just send me a message. I will hook you up. :) lkain@unitedgrace.com

We are United Grace

The Blue Star Grace pendant is more than just a piece of jewelry. It is the symbol that unites us. We are United Grace. We are mothers, daughters, sisters, wives...we are those "holding down the fort, taking care of business, making things happen, keeping everyone going." We are united by situations and a lifestyle too complex to explain to those who do not live this life. We share a special bond that few could understand or relate to.  We lead our families with grace and a sense of pride in what we represent. We are a group that has grown accustomed to relying on our Blue Star friendships during the happiest and the toughest of times. We are there to hold a hand during a time of grieving, and we are there to hold a hand when a new life enters the world. We know who to talk to when we need someone who will simply listen and "understand." We all get the same tight feeling in our chests when we see a yellow ribbon around a tree, a Gold Star on a flag, a Blue Star on a flag, the American flag. We have a deeper understanding of what these symbols represent. Often times, we hear, "How do you do it? I could never do it," when our spouses must deploy. Our love for those who live by a motto of, "If not me, then who," is how we do it.
 We are proud
and strong
and compassionate
and passionate
about this life
and the love
of the Blue Star...
for it's more than a symbol
to us.

We are United Grace.

Give the Gift of A Blue Star to your loved one this Christmas!

Families of our Armed Forces serve as inspiration for our United Grace Blue Star Grace Collection. The Blue Star designation was originally created in 1917 by a father who had two sons serving in the First World War. This symbol was later adopted to recognize all families with active duty service members. Our soldiers represent America at its best. They are courageous and selfless, but in truth, they do not serve alone. Families provide love and support to our soldiers, and they sacrifice the quiet and secure life that the rest of us enjoy. They stand strong without complaint, and we celebrate and honor them with this collection.

Gift the Gift of Grace this Holiday Season...

As military spouses, we often hear, "We support the troops and the families, but we're not really sure what we can do to help," from our civilian friends. If there is one thing we can suggest this year, it would be to sponsor a military widow. When words fail, there is no sweeter action than the gift of giving...if you are an individual or a business owner who would like to gift a military widow the Gold Star pendant, please contact us.

Happy Thanksgiving

United Grace would like to wish everyone, near and far, a Happy Thanksgiving. We are especially grateful and thankful for those who are deployed, in harms way, and for those who have sacrificed the most. There are no words to properly give thanks. Each and every day, we are thankful for our military families. It is important to give thanks for the little things, the small moments, the people who make our lives worth living and those who have influenced us in some way. Although some may be gone, they are never forgotten...May you and yours enjoy this holiday. We are thankful for you.

"All Gave Some. Some Gave All."

Today, on Veterans Day, we would like to take a moment to thank the men and women who support and defend our flag, our country, and our families. For those of us who are "married to the military," Veterans Day does not just occur once a year; we live Veterans Day each and every day. We know how it feels to spend a year alone, to watch our friends say good-bye to their spouses, to tell our loved ones about our day over a sketchy skype connection. We are so proud of our husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, moms, dads, friends, and families who live this military life. But, especially, on this day, we want to take the time to remember those who gave all, the ultimate sacrifice to our country. We are forever indebted to these individuals, and words can't describe our sorrow for your loss. This is one reason why we feel so strongly regarding our support for The American Widow Project. The Gold Star represents the love and loss of the service member, and each sparkle of this stunning pendant is a constant reminder of not only the sacrifice, but the legacy and grace of those left behind. The Gold Star Grace pendant was something we could provide to show our support for the loved ones of our hero Soldiers. It is our goal and hope to gift 1500 widows this piece by the end of 2012. If you would like to make this dream come true, please contact us at Info@unitedgrace.com. The cost to show your support for a widow is $153. American Widow Project Founder: Taryn Davis

"The Gold Star Grace pendant is hard to sum up in so few words. Besides it's obvious beauty and detail, it's the significant meaning behind it that means the most. This pendant represents the eternal love I share with my husband and hero (CPL Michael Davis KIA 5.21.07). It represents my pride in sharing my title of a military widow with some of the most inspiring and empowering women in the world. And most importantly, this pendant represents the light that is still within each of us...a light that is unfaltering and always will guide us through the darkest of hours. Since 2001, over 6,500 U.S. service members have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Around half of these service members were married, leaving an estimated 3,200 military widows across our country, from the wars alone. While the service member’s sacrifice is acknowledged, many simply forget or fail to recognize the sacrifice of the spouse who is now left a widow of war. Oftentimes the invisible wounds of military widows are disregarded due to age or a simple lack of knowledge and understanding. The American Widow Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to the new generation of those who have lost the heroes of yesterday, today and tomorrow, with an emphasis on healing through sharing stories, tears and laughter. Military Widow to Military Widow.
Our goal is to present 1500 widows with The Gold Star Grace Pendant by the end of 2012.
